Feed the Fire progression guide: what to work toward next
Plan your next goals in Feed the Fire: expand the upgrade tree, unlock fuels and spawners, raise fire level, survive storms and aim for the leaderboards.
Put your next round’s money into the upgrade tree, work toward new fuels and spawners, and keep growing your fire to survive the next storm. Level 50 is a major level target, while the leaderboards give you an ongoing competitive goal. Fire levels and storms matter throughout this progression, so keep working on them as you expand your upgrades and automation.
Turn each finished round into more upgrades
Burning fuel earns money, and a bigger fire earns more. That money funds the upgrade tree, where each purchase reveals more choices. After your first few fires, use this loop to open up more of the tree and work toward new fuel unlocks, including lightning chains, explosions and firework blasts.
When a round ends, the next actions are straightforward:
- On the results screen, select UPGRADE. After a failed rain phase, this is the DROWNED OUT screen.
- Spend your available money on cards in the FEED YOUR FIRE panel. Each purchase reveals more of the tree.
- Select START THE FIRE to begin the next round.
Your immediate progress is visible in the purchased upgrades and newly revealed choices. For the tree itself, see the Feed the Fire upgrade tree guide.
Work toward spawners and give them room
Spawners are the next useful automation goal: they supply fuel so your fire can be fed without manually dragging every piece. Once they become available, you can buy and place multiple spawners to build up that supply.
Placement matters as the fire grows. A large fire can burn spawners, so position them away from the flames and move them farther out when necessary. Buying more fuel sources and protecting the ones you already have belong together; leave room for the larger fire you are building toward.
The spawners guide covers this part of progression in more detail.
Make the next storm your immediate target
Storms test your fire throughout a run. When the preparation clock runs out, rain arrives, and the fire must be big enough to survive. Build it before the rain and keep feeding it during the rain phase.
The storm order is:
Drizzle → Shower → Rainfall → Downpour → Storm → Tempest
Each storm is stronger than the previous one. Surviving lets the run continue; if the fire’s meter empties, the fire goes out and the round ends. Use the next storm as your short-term target while watching the FIRE LEVEL counter rise through feeding the fire.
For help with the rain phases, use the storm survival guide.
Aim for Level 50, then keep pushing
Set Level 50 as a major level milestone. Keep expanding the upgrade tree and your automatic fuel supply while attempting the stronger storms, including Tempest.
Surviving the final Tempest can take you into another world with new fuels, upgrades and boss challenges. That gives you further progression beyond the first world’s Level 50 target; the worlds guide covers that next step.
The leaderboards sit alongside these milestones as the competitive goal. Once you have a setup that supports larger fires and stronger storm attempts, keep developing it and work toward climbing the boards.
